Thorofare Mtn. Bushwhack

Thoroughfare not

Nearing Pinnacle Peak (according to Richard's map)

Pinnacle
Reticulated ice momentarily moves my mind from bushwhacking fatigue.

The route up the snowy side and down the drier (east? west? south?) stream-gashed side is carefully plotted for maximum boulder action. Eventually, everyone emerges somewhere along the Hughes. After hours of bush and boulder whacking, bodies know they definitely whack back. Apparently at the end of the day no bones were broken, no heads bashed, no appendages trapped or crushed, though bruises bloomed and divots bled. Some leapt with aplomb, maintaining a clean, pressed look; others bore telltale signs of slithering, especially on the back side. A last rock-hop over the Hughes, and a walk on the wild side returns to regular programming on the beaten path.

Safe, serene Nethers Rd.
